My New Crocs

February 20, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’ve been on the search for the perfect sandals for almost six years. That’s how long it’s been since I’ve bought a good pair of sandals. I’m picky about them because almost every sandal that I’ve tried hurts my feet. I don’t have arthritis or a medical condition that afflicts my feet like some do, but for some reason, I can’t find a comfortable pair – no matter what the price tag.

Until now. I may have found the next best thing: Crocs. I didn’t know what the big deal was until I tried on a pair. I liked the feel – very comfortable, and it didn’t hurt my feet like most other sandals did. But there were some concerns. Like the fact that Crocs trap heat making my feet sweat. And mostly the unavailability of Crocs. I couldn’t find them anywhere in my size and in a decent color. That is, until I looked on Amazon. Once I knew what size I was, I could pick the color and have it delivered without paying any shipping fees. How convenient is that?

At first I was a bit skeptical, but now I am a believer. Crocs are the next best thing. Mine are in Army Green. But if I ever strike it rich, I hope to buy a few more in different colors – light blue and orange, perhaps?!

At $29.99 they’re not cheap. But I think they’re worth it. They double as “sandals” and “shoes” by being able to flip the back strap back and forth. Nice feature. I’ve read reviews where people have noted that Crocs are on the ugly side, and I do have to agree. They look better on kids than they do adults, but once you get past the weirdness of the look, they become addicting. I want to wear my Crocs everywhere – in the bedroom, the bathroom, the kitchen and the studio – except that it gets hot and my feet start to sweat so I have to kick them off.
